Forget About The Past

                                                                                                                                          Forget about the past - God is more concerned about our future than he was about the past.

Israel has rebelled against God and thought it was all over.

 Formula for Failure

  1. Stop making excuses for your failure. No one can ruin your life, only you can do that. Proverbs Be honest and face up to your problem
    1. Pride causes us to fail
    2. Giving up
    3. Failure is the path to least success - Its never to late to
  2. Take an inventory of my life.
    1. Evaluate my life's experience and figure out what you learned
      1. Personal
      2. Vocational
      3. Spiritual
      4. Pain
    2. What have I learned from past experiences
    3. What are my assets - what do I have going for me
    4. Who can help me - we need somebody by our wide
  3. Act in Faith - launch out into new territory
    1. According to your faith it shall be done unto you.
      1. Affirmative faith takes action
      2. Stop having a pity party
      3. Forget the past
      4. Get on with the future
      5. Whatever your focus tends to be is what you will be
      6. Fear of failure is accomplished in faith
  4. Refocus your thoughts
    1. Proverbs 4:23
    2. Change your actions
    3. Stop thinking the same old thoughts
    4. It can't hurt you without your permission
    5. Replace your thoughts
    6. Focus on what you do want
    7. Meditate on God's word
      1. Meditate means to consider the thought
  5. Trust God to help you succeed Zech 4:6
    1. God doesn't want to give us a new leaf but a new life

I agree that in general it is best to forget about the past. If there is nothing to be gained by dwelling on the past the best thing to do is to forget or not let it affect your actions and decisions for your present and future. But there is are some things to be learned from our past. Some of our past mistakes can be a teaching moment in order for us not to commit the same mistakes and allow us to make better decisions.
